The Salsa and Latin Jazz Ensemble was created by conga drummer and singer Edgardo Cambón to provide an opportunity to intermediate level non professional musicians to play Salsa and Latin Jazz standards in a friendly, casual, yet musically committed scenario.
The ensemble meets weekly and they work and rehearse songs and charts that the teacher provides ahead, as he supervises and coachs them on many aspects of playing music at a semi-pro level.
HANDS ON FIRE STUDIOS: 3824 MacArthur Av. Oakland Ca.
WHEN: Wednesdays May 2 to May 23 (4 Weeks). 8PM to 9:30 PM.
All interested musicians must have a basic level of proficiency on their instruments, and bring their own instruments, with the exception of Congas (the studio will provide those.)
Basic level of reading music is very beneficial for the class, but not mandatory for percussionists and vocalists or small hand percussion players.
$100 for 4 weeks paid in advance.
$35 per class, but you must let the teacher know ahead that you are coming and get his approval to join.
NO REFUNDS ISSUED.
REQUESTING FULL PAYMENT FOR THE 4 WEEKS IN ADVANCE IS THE ONLY WAY TO WARRANTY THAT THE ENSEMBLE WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE MUSICALLY AND THAT THERE WILL BE ENOUGH QUORUM AND THE BASIC INSTRUMENTATION NEEDED WILL BE PRESENT EVERY WEEK.
48HRS NOTICE FOR CANCELATION (OR IF FOR ANY REASON YOU CAN NOT ATTEND) IS VERY APPRECIATED.
